June 30, 2024
Cleaned up the last three plastic bottles and a few scraps of Styrofoam. Allan and I saw a huge dolphin! I got off one shot before he submerged!! He was cruising up and down the seawall, and right under my kayak – three times! The junior ducks are getting bigger, the smaller one circled my kayak twice before he moved on, Just curious I guess. No one has seen Nature John in months.

Little Mallard Duckling is growing up! Unless he is beside an adult (and he was aloe this morning) youalmost cannot tell he is only months old.
He comes up to my kayak and says hi.
I tossed him some seeds, but he was not interested. I guess he is well fed from all the algae and water plants coming down the creek.

A nice day, thunderstorms in the vicinity, but not close (I could hear the thunder though). No manatees, or dolphins. The Black Skimmer was out fishing, I tried to photograph him, but he was too close and too fast…yet he photobombed my photo of a pelican! Then I saw three Black Skimmers flying together! Altogether a great day with the ducks growing up.
