Dark Pudding and Foamy Sauce

Here’s what’s cookin’ in Susan’s oven!

Dark Pudding and Foamy Sauce               

Dark Pudding:

1 cup – molasses
1 egg
1 cup – sour milk
1/2 cup (scant) – salt pork – chopped fine
1 1/2 teaspoon – baking soda
1 teaspoon – salt
1 cup – raisins
cloves, cinnamon & nutmeg
flour to make quite thick

steam for 3 hours.

Foamy Sauce:

Beat together

1 egg
1 cup – sugar

and add butter the size of a walnut.

Pour over it 1 1/2 cups boiling water and beat.

Serve in small pitcher to be poured over dark pudding.
