January 2007

January 10, 2007

Work is going well up here on the Savannah River Site. I was home for the holidays but back here January 2 and will remain here until February 3. I have been asked to prepare a presentation of my innovations for the site!!! I will prepare it over the weekend and present it on Monday. Our supervisor at the Department of Energy (DOE) asked for the presentation!

We drove over to the middle of the SRS site yesterday for lunch at the cafeteria. It gave us a very strange feeling to be sitting there eating lunch in full view of the buildings holding the most deadly of containers (if you stood beside one of the containers – which are underground and well protected – for 30 minutes unprotected, it is said that you would not live to tell the tale). And on the other side of us was the Tritium plant. If they had a leak and people inhaled the tritium in quantities they would also be hurt.

I missed Sue and Dave coming to Florida (having been here in S. Carolina) but I will take up Darrell’s challenge (below) in February when I will be home!

Enclosed are pictures of Darrell on Cody, Donald and David are riding on Lil Joe. Now, the challenge goes out to John and Daniel to ride. Come on down to the ranch and git r done. Speaking of Dan, this photo was taken at Bangor Intl airport as Tami departed for Iraq. Dan met her at the airport and wished her a safe trip. We are very proud of Tami. Tami has called us to let us know that she has safely arrived.
