Cannery (Apple) Pie

Here’s what’s cookin’ in Susan’s oven!

Cannery Pie (Apple Pie)            

Mix the following well:

1 1/2 cup – sugar
1 cup – flour
2 teaspoons – baking powder
1/2 teaspoon – salt
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Add:

2 cups – diced apples
3/4 cup – chopped walnuts

Place in deep dish pie plate (buttered well).

Bake at 375 degrees about 45 minutes. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
