The buildings in the background were only hit by the wind, the remains of the similar buildings that were hit by the 30 foot surge are in the foreground, bulldozers had pushed this path through the rubble.. The only sound was the beeping of the smoke detectors as the batteries went dead. There were 28 kids in this pile in the foreground – they had stayed behind to have a hurricane party.
