Here it is the end of the month and I have been negligent in getting pictures up!

Last weekend: Daytona Beach……

My beach babe:

The beach from our balcony:

Sunrise:

North:

South:

Later on the morning:

Manatees at Blue Spring!!!! (along the far bank)

Zoomed in:

Safe by a nose:

A manatee tail and an alligator.

I cheated, a postcard:

The house on the property:

Close up of one of the alligators:

A gar:

A catfish:

Looking downstream:

Blue Spring itself:

Four manatees heading up toward the spring, one returning:

Two more going upstream:

Four going downstream, entering St. John’s River

Our Marly group last Thursday:

Our bougainvillea is getting leggy:

Our new Passion plant blossomed this morning:

We went to Pam’s parents for Easter yesterday and Dad and Betty’s for Easter today! Then Fort Desoto this afternoon (it was windy!):

I got a fish!…no, three fish!!!!!

Waiting out the wind:

Watching:

Coming from the beach:

Pam looking into a cannon:

Looking over the ruins of the fort:

Nice day to fly a kite!

Yesterday I “mowed our lawn”; actually I trimmed all the mangroves

And today we went kayaking! We went half way across the peninsula on the Cross Bayou Canal! Here are some pictures:

An osprey:

Same osprey:

A pelican:

His next door neighbor:

Someone’s back yard:

Going up river:

Coming to a railroad and Belcher road:

We both got some sunburn, decided to call it a day after 4 miles, called a cab to come get me. He took me to the car – and as we left I saw a woman in a wheel chair with signs around her and thought it curious. I drove back to get Pam, it turned out that Terri Schiavo was at the point where we took the canoe out! She is at WOODSIDE HOSPICE: 6770 102nd Ave.  Pinellas Park, Florida

I took a picture where I got the taxi:

One block away.

The “car” is complete and they are starting low speed tests in the run for 800mph land speed record! The vehicle is very narrow

and, as others have found out, may not be stable across bumpy terrain. Wish them luck though!  http://www.landspeed.com/

They are up near Amy!

WHY CAN’T YOU ASK FOR KETCHUP IN FRANCE?

Because it’s like saying “The food is awful”.
–Why can’t you eat with your right hand in
Arab countries? Because that’s your potty hand.
Crazy Table Manners around the world (cool for kids).

Donald sent a blurb:

OK, here’s a way you people can keep track of me here in CA. When I’m hanggliding at least. Take a look at these webcams when it is daylight on the west coast.

Ft Funston:

http://www.mindspring.com/~mlbco/webcam.htm

The picture on the right shows the setup area and wind sock for this beach site. On a nice weekend afternoon you might see me setting up my ATOS there. For a better view of what the site looks like when you are flying, here’s a nice picture:
http://funston.appweb.org/gallery/photo80.jpg

Lots more in the gallery there.

Mission Peak:

http://flymission.com/mission/live_java_sock.htm if your browser supports Java.

http://flymission.com/mission/live_no_java_sock.htm if it doesn’t.

http://flymission.com/mission/today.htm for a history of the last few hours.

When the pointy end of the windsock is away from the camera, conditions might be right for flying.

And here’s a picture to show a better view of this urban site:
http://funston.appweb.org/gallery/photo66.jpg

Now here’s the fun part. Here’s a webcam which shows Mission Peak as well as the valley I live in:

http://64.124.190.26/view/view.shtml

This web site is unusual because you can control the camera. Choose the preset positions on the left for specific landmarks. You might see the hanggliders if you select “Mission Peak”. Try “AirportZoom” for a shot of the San Jose airport. You can direct the camera to the highways to see the traffic conditions. Whether you are able to see the mountain presets will depend on weather conditions. Have fun. Don’t fight over the camera controls with someone else on the web!

Darrell sent this:HOW TO TELL IF YOU NEED TO PRAY AT WORK

When a co-worker comes in a little too happy singing “good morning” to everyone and you think, “Somebody needs to slap the s** out of her.” You need to pray at work.

When someone comes in and announces, “office meeting in 5 minutes,” and you think, “what the *** do they want now?”….. You need to pray at work.

When your computer is mysteriously turned off and you want to say, which one of you **** turned off my computer?” ….. You need to pray at work.

W hen you and a co-worker are discussing something, and a third person comes in and says, “well at my last office…”, and you want to throw  a stapler at him… . You need to pray at work.

When you hear a co-worker call your name and the first thing that crosses your mind is, “what the *** does this *** want now?” and you try to hide underneath your desk…….. You need to pray at work.

When you are asked to stay late and help do someone else’s work and the first thing that pops in your head is, “both of y’all can *****!!” You need to pray at work. When you’re in the elevator and it stops to pick up someone who stood for five minutes waiting for the darn thing only to go DOWN one floor, and you say “that lazy *****”….. .You need to pray at work.

When you take some vacation time and come back to find a mountain of paperwork sitting on your desk because no one else would do it and you think, “sorry ****s”……. You need to pray at work.

If you have ever thought about poisoning, choking, punching, slapping, or flattening someone’s tires that you work with….. You need to pray at work.

If you avoid saying more than hello or how are you doing to someone because you know it’s going to lead to their life story . You need to pray at work.

LET US ALL BOW OUR HEADS!
