Congratulations Susan for getting Merlin working! You and Dan are the only ones I have heard from who have gotten it to work!
Denise spent Sunday night with her sisters, sounds like they had fun! We will be going over to New Orleans this weekend to visit!

Hi everybody-
I usually don’t do “form letters”, but this calls for one…

We had a baby! Our daughter was born this morning (2/18) at 0745, 8 lbs 5oz,
20 in. long and healthy! Mom and baby are doing great.

If you want to see a few pictures from our hours-old child, look at:

Hope to talk to you all soon!

Aloha!

Dan is at it again:

As suggested in this newspaper article, I had a foot chase the other night.
It didn’t mention that the guy is suppose to be one our biggist heroin
dealers, also known to be armed and desperate.    It also didn’t mention
that at first, he refused to come out of his hiding spot.  Since he
couldn’t see that I had him at gun point, (you know, night time, flashlight
shining on him,) I put my laser sights on the guy. When he looked down to
his chest and saw a big red dot…he gave up.  Just got my new Laser
sights.  They are a very nice new toy.

So much for an old guy not being able to keep up with the young pups…

Hi John,
It’s been a while since I wrote, not much to write about.  I might do an
update for the page soon.  Been skiing & HG.  Will bring the kids down to
Lake Tahoe (flying in to Reno tonight) for Presidents weekend at the ski
club cabin.  They are into snowboarding.  Next week down to San Bernardino
mountains with a HG group.  Hope to tandem.
Would you take a look at www.vedicvoice.com/test with IE?  I wrote this
for a friend into Vedic astrology.  Not finished.  It would be great if you
could crash it.

Talk about busy!! It has been about as busy this last week as I have ever been! Non stop for 12 hours a day. Today our new computers came, one 800 MHz and two 700 MHz Athlon computers with 43 and 27 Gig hard drives. All with Windows 2000. Yesterday we lost power for about one second. What havoc that precipitated! Two CDROMs which were running at the time died, several computers failed to come back up properly, and the whole place was chaos.

Our internet access was down when I came in this morning. I thought little of it and left a message for our ISP. They never call back, the system just comes back on, or at least it did the last two times this year. This time it did not. Computers then started dropping off the network. The box gives the computers their IP address to stay on the network is also the one that provides us the Internet access. I discovered that the IP addresses were not being provided and determined that the box had died. After two trips to the store my helpers got a new box for IP and Internet. The whole system had to be changed though as the new box had to have the IP addresses I had assigned to my main printers. I was in the middle of that when I tried to implement the internet access. It would not work. I called ISP again. He noted that GTE, the carrier between us was down! It is hard enough to get a whole new system up, but when other parts fail as well, it makes it doubly hard! Hopefully on Monday GTE will be up, I can get a signal to prove my system, I can get the color printer back on line, I can get three computers moved and up and running, all before 8:30 AM!!

What fun!

Denise has been having fun too, she and her friends went to United Airlines to try out to become flight attendants!

Denise is getting her share of exercise, she worked out at a gym for three hours, went to her violin lesson, then swam for another hour (she swims, I just float around). I have been working hard, we had an update to the database due yesterday. We sent on 146,000 records! We have 240,000 in all and will be at it for a while! It has been a demanding but fun thing, getting the database created, filled in, and the error control.
Today Denise went to her class and I cut firewood. It is 48º out right now and we have a nice fire keeping us warm. Nate called tonight, his wife Christine is leaving California tomorrow and hopes to meet him Friday. They are going to get an apartment and finally get to live as a couple! Brett wrote and sent pictures!
