Lima, Peru

September 3 to 11, 2021.
We had to get a test for Covid-19 within 72 hours of the flight to Lima, Peru. Since the flight was at 6 PM Sunday, we had to have the test beginning at 6 PM Thursday. They stop testing at 5 PM, so Thursday was out. The test results are after 24 hours later. So Friday morning was the first a available time. Sunday at 9 AM we had to leave to get to the airport for our first flight. My test results came through Saturday evening, Eileen’s did not come through until 3 AM Sunday, this was quite close. Not knowing until a few hours before is quite harrowing!
We flew American Airlines in our double masks down to Lima where we boarded a bus to our hotel. Ibis Hotel in Miraflores, Lima The hotel was very nice, clean and convenient. I have stayed in 200 hotels, and this is in my top 10. The restaurant on the first level was great, they took very good care of us.

Just down the street (about 4 blocks) was an incredible underground mall Larcomar:

The view out the window of the hotel. It was a very nice hotel, the towels and soap were in plastic on the bed. All winter they say Lima is foggy all day long.
A short tour took us along the waterfront and the parks there.
