We are home from Scotland. We had a wonderful time with Payton and his mum

I have been busy with Fiddlers and woodworking in my shop. I am going to build a new mantlepiece for my fireplace! Betty has invited me up for Easter, Denise is sending my furniture back Saturday.

David and Jean are in Scotland!
Dear Dad & Betty,
We are having a great time in Scotland, the flights in were trouble free and we are thoroughly enjoying our new grandson.
You were asking about the Edinburgh Military tattoo. It will be held from the 2nd to the 24th of August this year. Michael said that he knows all about it although he has never been. You can find more information on their website at : www.edinburgh-tatoo.co.uk/

I cannot believe how time flies! I had a great time on my cruise, climbing pyramids, snorkeling, playing with the stingrays, dancing, getting a massage, all the fun things. Then came back to another hearing and loads of work.

Corbin is coming up on his 3rd birthday. He is bright and funny and very active. Camryn just had her first birthday. She has 4 teeth that she likes to show off and is walking all over the house. Jim is keeping busy around the house and looking hard for a new work place. I have been busy with the kids, parent groups, play dates, but I have taken up a new hobby, scrapbooking. The Health Visitor was here again today to do Payton’s checkup – he has gained another pound already, so is now 10lb 7oz! Other than being pretty much constantly hungry, he is doing great. He is also still sleeping for 5-6 hours straight at night, so Michael and I aren’t doing too badly either.

Hi all,
We went to see two of our grandkids this weekend. Here are two pictures.

On Saturday I played chess with Jim, then did some repairs before going to Bon Appetite in Dunedin for a fine meal. Yesterday I got the top of my three decks painted before the rain began. I then had a great meal at the Columbia at the Pier. I have been tending to not cook, since I have no stove, but eat one meal a day out!
I have had several e-mails and I guess there is a consensus: We have had our get together for 2002. Sue and Al, you are off the hook until 2008! I have updated the schedule at the bottom of this page.

Dear all,
For those of you who have not heard, Heather and myself now have a son,
Payton David Livingstone.
Payton was born at 12:20pm on the 26th February 2002 in Aberdeen Royal
Infirmary, weighing in at a healthy 8lb 1 1/4oz. Both mother and baby are
doing well.

February 28, 2002Whenever your children are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even God’s omnipotence did not extend to His own children. After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve. And the first thing He said was, “Don’t”.”Don’t what?” Adam replied.”Don’t eat the forbidden fruit.” God said.”Forbidden fruit? We have forbidden fruit?Hey, Eve … we have forbidden fruit!””No way!””Yes, way!””Do NOT eat the fruit”, said God.”Why?””Because I am your Father and I said so!” God replied. A few minutes later, God saw His children having an apple snack, and was He ticked! “Didn’t I tell you not to eat the fruit?” God, as our first parent, asked?”Uh huh,” Adam replied.”Then why did you do it?” said the Father.”I don’t know,” said Eve.”She started it!” Adam said.”Did not!””Did too.””DID NOT!”Having had it with the two of them, God’s punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own. Thus, a pattern was set and it has never changed! But there is reassurance in this story. If you have persistently and vainly tried to give children wisdom and they haven’t taken it, don’t be so hard on yourself. If God had trouble raising children, what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for you? Advice for the day: If you have a lot of tension and you get a headache, do what it says on the aspirin bottle:”Take two Aspirin” and”Keep away from children.” You spend the first 2 years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next 16 telling them to sit down and shut-up. Grandchildren are God’s reward for not killing your children. Mothers of teens know why some animals eat their young. Children seldom misquote you. In fact they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn’t have said. The main purpose of holding children’s parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own. We child-proofed our home 3 years ago and they’re still getting in. AND FINALLY: Be nice to your kids. They’ll choose your nursing home someday!
