The blue<\/strong> morpho is among the largest butterflies<\/strong> in the world, with wings spanning from five to eight inches. Their vivid, iridescent blue<\/strong> coloring is a result of the microscopic scales on the backs of their wings, which reflect light.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Aruba Natural Bridge<\/strong> was a tourist attraction in Aruba<\/a> that was formed naturally out of coral limestone. It collapsed on September 2, 2005.
The natural arch<\/a>, measuring approximately 25 feet (7.6 m) high and 100 feet (30 m) long, was the remnant of an ancient cave.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Alto Vista Chapel<\/strong> is a small Catholic chapel also known as “Pilgrims Church” that stands on the hills above the north shore of the sea and to the northeast of the town of Noord<\/a>, on the island of Aruba<\/a>, 27 km north of the coast of Venezuela<\/a>. The church, now painted on the outside in stark bright yellow, makes it a conspicuous religious monument for people to visit. The present Chapel of Alto Vista was completed in 1952 and stands in the same location as the original chapel, which was built by Domingo Silvestre, the Venezuelan missionary from Santa Ana de Coro<\/a>, Venezuela, in 1750.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Looking at the previous photo, the area is all desert. I put my camera on the coral and took this picture of a tiny cactus in the foreground (the only cactus around) and the lighthouse in the background. The caretaker of the lighthouse insisted I send him the photo.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
