Early that morning, roughly <strong data-start=\"784\" data-end=\"817\">700\u2013800 SS and Gestapo troops<\/strong> surrounded the church.<\/p>\n\n\n<hr data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"845\" \/>\n\n<h2 data-start=\"847\" data-end=\"866\">The Battle Above<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"868\" data-end=\"980\">Four of the men were positioned in the choir loft.<br data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"921\" \/>When
