Betty’s Mystery Mocha

Here’s what’s cookin’ in Susan’s oven!

Betty’s Mystery Mocha                  

Mix and sift:

3/4 cup – sugar
1 cup – flour
2 teaspoons – baking powder
1/8 teaspoon – salt

Melt and add to above:

1 square – bitter chocolate
2 tablespoons – butter

Mix with above:

1/2 cup – milk
1 teaspoon – vanilla

Spread in greased 8″ square pan

Sprinkle over batter:

1/2 cup – brown sugar
4 tablespoons – cocoa

Pour over all – 1 cup hot coffee (or hot water if desired)

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes

Top will be shiny like brownies, pudding on the bottom may boil up around the edges.
