Letter from Courtney:
Hi uncle John!
I just wanted to update you on a few things so that
you can fix up my little section of the homepage. By the
way, this page is great, it's great to keep all our info on here! To let
you know, my new email address, which is my school address, the only one I ever
use, is [redacted - on the family data page]- and oh yeah, I'm majoring in
art history and minoring in museum studies. I guess that's about it, I
just wanted to drop you a note to let you know of my changes. I hope you
are
well, and please tell Grampy congratulations on his engagement news!
Love,
Courtney

Justin called and talked to dad Saturday. Dad and I worked cleaning out the shed, we took over enough stuff to fill half of the huge dumpster! Betty had dad and me over for dinner Saturday night. Sunday I started packing my things, then painted the front porch, the driveway and the carport. It has taken 4 gallons of paint so far! Tonight I plan to finish painting, hopefully it will be dry for this weekend.
Sue will be happy to know it is expected to cool off for the weekend, it has been in the 80's!

Just got an e-mail from Justin (Darrell's oldest!)
January 24, 2002
Guess I need to keep up with the times, Amy is coming Wednesday, Jan 30, Sue, Dave, Don, Jeanie, Stephanie, and Dan are coming Friday, Darrell and family will meet all the rest of us in dad's home Saturday morning then go over to the wedding. Church is on Sunday, then the new bride and groom will be heading off Monday to St. Simon's island instead of New Orleans. That is the latest anyway!

Is this called "smiting thine enemies":
I cannot believe time flying like this! I am running out of time to find a place to live! We had a great big engagement party for Dad and Betty last night, then I worked on the pastor's computer till late. We are so busy here with the deadline of next week on the World Trade Center project.
AMY CALLED AND SAID SHE WILL BE HERE FOR THE WEDDING!!! Hurray!
Dad and Betty!

I guess I need to be careful what I say, Wednesday I said " Who knows when that will change."
Well, it is now going to change!!!
Dad has proposed to Betty
Perkins ( a very nice lady who lives nearby). She accepted
and they will be getting married on February 2, 2002 (2-2-2)!!!!!!! here in
Zephyrhills. They will have a honeymoon in New Orleans St.
Simons the week of Feb 3, then
Dad will be moving in with her and selling his home.
I will put up a picture when I get it.
Dad and Betty are so excited. They are acting like kids again!
The whole church is buzzing with this, everybody loves both dad and Betty.

Unfortunately nothing changed in mediation yesterday. Denise is happy living in the condo rent free. I am still living with dad. Who knows when that will change.
The weather here is beautiful!!

Donald called last night. Dad decided that he would like to go to church 10:15 Sunday Feb 3 with all the family that can make it, then go out to dad's favorite restaurant (the Chowda House - with the lighthouse on top just south of 54 on 301) for lunch and a small birthday party. I offered to cook and have it home, but he wanted to go out.
Darrell (not David!) sent the below note:

I have started working on the World Trade Center today!
I received a CD from David and am inserting a few pictures he sent. I also talked to Amy, she and Sarah are doing fine in their new home; Darrell called to wish us a happy New Year.

ANYWAY
What
you spend years building, someone
could
destroy overnight.
Build
anyway.
If
you find serenity and happiness,
they
may be jealous;
Be
happy anyway.
The
good you do today,
people
will often forget tomorrow;
Do
good anyway.
Give
the world the best you have,
and
it may never be enough;
Give
the world the best you've got anyway.
You
see, in the final analysis,
it
is between you and God;
it
was never between you and them anyway.
